Louis Buhl & Co. is pleased to present its first print edition with Rosson Crow. Inspired by road trips through the desert and her extensive archive of photographs, vintage postcards, and political ephemera, Crow’s work depicts the search for freedom in the American West and examines America’s political landscape.
“My paintings have always come out of my love of history, I love researching the history of a city and finding out what goes on. I love going to weird places — I find that really exciting.” — Rosson Crow
A set of two limited edition prints have been produced, each one offering a more intimate look into Crow’s monumental work Belle Isle Conservatory. In this piece, Crow explores the history of the city of Detroit, looking to the acclaimed Belle Isle Conservatory as her muse. Akin to her desert works, discarded objects, tchotchkes, and ephemera mingle within the plant life of the famous greenhouse designed by Albert Kahn in 1902 and inspired by London’s Crystal Palace.
