Louis Buhl & Co. is pleased to present a new edition with artist Jason REVOK, titled BrokenLoop_3/20_small. Examining the question of authorship from start to finish, REVOK has developed systematic yet imperfect tools to carry out his vision and has created a number of unmistakable bodies of work. His bold, balanced, geometry is heightened by the personal and imperfect sleight of the human hand. Having spent years developing and experimenting with the mechanisms at work within his tools, REVOK has begun to look more closely at the emotional and conceptual aspects of their output. Says REVOK: “I think the work I have been making is likely a conscious effort to seek purpose in living or some type of action to practice being mindful and not emotionally and spiritually bankrupt. The visual language in [my] work is my effort to deal with big existential fears and hopes in the simplest and most immediate language I can come up with.” 

In BrokenLoop_3/20_small, REVOK continues to push creative boundaries while demonstrating an appreciation for the things that can happen when we let go. Although performing with intention, REVOK never quite knows what the end result will be — this spontaneity and unpredictability a crucial element of his practice.
