Louis Buhl & Co. is pleased to present a new monoprint edition with artist Jason REVOK, titled BrokenLoop2_5/20_11/24. Examining the question of authorship from start to finish, REVOK has developed systematic yet imperfect tools to bring his vision to life, resulting in a number of unmistakable bodies of work. This unique series of monoprints features hand-painted backgrounds, with each piece measuring 38h x 30w inches.

The bold, balanced geometry in REVOK’s work is intensified by the subtle, imperfect sleight of the human hand. Having spent years developing and experimenting with the mechanisms at work within his tools, REVOK has begun to look more closely at the emotional and conceptual aspects of their output. Says REVOK: “I think the work I have been making is likely a conscious effort to seek purpose in living or some type of action to practice being mindful and not emotionally and spiritually bankrupt. The visual language in [my] work is my effort to deal with big existential fears and hopes in the simplest and most immediate language I can come up with.”

In BrokenLoop2_5/20_11/24, REVOK continues to push creative boundaries, appreciating the outcomes that emerge from letting go. While working with intention, REVOK embraces spontaneity, as the unpredictability of each piece remains a crucial element of his practice.
