Louis Buhl & Co. is pleased to present a new edition with artist Cody Hudson, titled A Life Long Lifeline Redux. Hudson’s use of graphic lines and bright color inspire a story of longing and hope, while also finding context within contemporary abstract painting. The artist is interested in the elemental use of shape as a signifier, but goes further by allowing the forms to be direct extensions of the painting’s poetic content. ⠀
Comprising 30 regular edition prints and ten monoprints, A Life Long Lifeline Redux is inspired by the idea of being outside — not just physically, but mentally, too. With the current state of the world, these prints represent something everyone is able to relate to to some degree, which is that of feeling confined and increasingly left to our thoughts and stresses about the future and all its uncertainty.
“We are all dealing with the pandemic in our own ways, but one thing that’s common to all people is how much more time they are spending inside the same spaces for extended periods of time. This includes in our own heads, as we find ourselves with more time that leads to increased anxiety, feelings of loneliness, and disconnection from the world. With these prints I wanted to envision being connected more to the outside world even if we are not able to connect with it physically.” — Cody Hudson
