Louis Buhl is pleased to present our first edition with New York-based artist Zoe McGuire, titled Red Extension. McGuire relies on her intuition to create surreal landscapes suspended in time, uniting the scientific and spiritual and the historical and contemporary in a continuous dialog. She explores the intertwined lives of plants, animals, and fungi with ecosystems, highlighting the symbiosis, care, and social aspects of each forest entity.

With Red Extension, curvilinear forms and sacred geometry are combined to build a composition that meditates on a life force beyond that which we can see. Invested in both nature and mysticism—and the relationship between the two—the work employs a jewel-like palette executed along a tonal scale. Red Extension is the first-ever screenprint McGuire has produced; the regular run of 20 prints is accompanied by 10 unique prints that were specially hand-embellished by the artist.
