Louis Buhl is pleased to present its first print edition with artist Aaron Glasson, titled Blueprint for Dissolving. Born in New Zealand and now based in the Mojave Desert, Glasson has devoted much of his career as an artist to exploring ideas around ecology, connectivity, and community engagement. In an investigation of the inescapable interconnectedness of life in all its forms, and how to further nurture and realize those connections, Glasson is constantly in observance of his everchanging environment, creating work in response to internal feelings of reverence, fear, and absolute awe.
With Blueprint for Dissolving, Glasson aims to mimic the harmony between ostensibly autonomous elements that exist within the natural world. Although the overall work is firmly grounded in reality, Glasson transforms objects into compositional structures, reducing individual forms and feelings experienced in his surroundings to a purified formula. The composition’s repetition of shape and earthlike tones generate a rhythmic sequence to suggest a sense of movement and energy.
