Geoff McFetridge

Geoff McFetridge’s stylized prints and paintings draw on elements of traditional painting and illustration, and on the artist’s own history as a graphic designer. His works feature spare compositions, bold color palettes, and human figures who occasionally contort into repeated motifs and patterns. McFetridge received his MFA from the California Institute of the Arts before going on to produce designs for magazines and commercial clients including Nike, Pepsi, Stüssy, and Burton Snowboards. He also collaborated on films including The Virgin Suicides, Adaptation, and Her. McFetridge has exhibited in New York, Copenhagen, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, Tokyo, and Paris, among other cities. While he is best known for his paintings and drawings, he has also produced animations, 3D graphics, textiles, and even poetry. McFetridge formerly art-directed the Beastie Boys magazine Grand Royal and still maintains his own design studio, Champion Studio.
